Here's How the Club Works

  • We Take Care of It All...Including the Boats

    We’ve taken care to select a variety of quality boats. And we always keep them clean and maintained. We also take care of the storage, insurance and repairs. So you can just focus on the fun!

  • Pay a 1x Entry Fee and Monthly Dues

    Just pay a 1x entry fee and choose one of our 3 membership plans.

  • Get Unlimited Training from Licensed Captains

    Your safety is our No. 1 concern. So we provide all our members FREE unlimited training with USCG-certified captains. And if you wish to boat in a new location, they’ll show you the waterways.

  • Boat as Often as You Wish

    Reserve a boat by phone or online. Then go fishing, tubing or head to a restaurant with friends. When you’re done, just bring the boat back and pay for the fuel. We take care of everything else!

Unlimited Boating

  • Grand Haven

    Keenan Marina is conveniently located minutes away from downtown Grand Haven. It is a full-service marina with a swimming pool, hot tubs, clubhouse, grills, showers, restrooms, and ice. There are several great restaurants, sandwich shops, and breweries within minutes of the marina and some will deliver to your boat at the dock.

  • Muskegon

    Located at Dockers Fish House. You can enjoy the vast inner lake waters that Muskegon Lake encompasses, or if Lake Michigan cruising or salmon fishing is your thing, the club is just minutes away from the Big Lake.

    Up for just a cruise? The Muskegon Channel hosts one of the best views by water as you pass the USS Silversides. Silversides was one of the most successful submarines in the Pacific Theater of World War II, she received a Presidential Unit Citation for cumulative action over four patrols, and twelve battle stars. She presently serves as a museum ship in Muskegon, and is a National Historic Landmark.

  • Whitehall

    Crosswinds Marina is conveniently located steps away from downtown Whitehall. It is a full-service marina with grills, showers, restrooms, and ice. There are several great restaurants, sandwich shops, and breweries within minutes of the marina and some will deliver to your boat at the dock.

    The marina offers easy access to Lake Michigan where you can enjoy the beautiful blue water and public beaches. Weather permitting, trips down to Muskegon Lake open your day to wonderful additional dining options and adventures. Lots of great fresh water fishing as well as great wakeboarding, tubing and skiing!

 

What about availability?

Mon-Fri boats are usually available with short to no notice, for weekends you will need to plan 3-7 days out, using your advanced rolling reservations. *Holiday weekends can sometimes require more planning.

Members also enjoy unlimited spur-of-the moment usage = any boat on the dock and not reserved is yours to take. In addition, members use our daily waitlist, accessed through our reservation system, in the event an existing reservation gets cancelled. Neither of these interfere with any advanced reservations you already have on the books.

 
 
 

Choose the membership that best suits your family & lifestyle.

 

  • Our main plan is called Freedom Boating and is the traditional Freedom Boat Club experience. It includes boating 7 Days per week, 4 advanced reservations any given time, and reciprocal access to all the 350+ reciprocal locations.

  • We also have a Weekday Boating plan which is the same as Freedom Boating, except no weekend usage, so only boating Monday-Friday.

  • The last plan we have is called FBC Lite. It’s boating only at our Local Clubs (Grand Haven, Whitehall & Muskegon) and gives 1 reservation at a time in our system. This plan only works well for super casual boaters. Lite members have limited weekend access.
